Words from letters
Find words that can be built from the letters you provide.
How to use
Enter a set of letters and get the words that can be built from them, for a word game, a crossword or a puzzle where the letters are known and the word is not. Each letter can be used as many times as it appears in your set, so a letter must be typed twice to be used twice.
Narrow the list with the other fields: minimum and maximum length (3 and 12 by default), the letters a word must start or end with, letters it must contain, and Use all letters to keep only words that use every letter exactly, which finds anagrams. Results can be sorted with the longest words first or alphabetically, and up to 1,000 are shown.
Accents, capitals and ligatures are ignored when matching: é counts as e, ß as ss and œ as oe, so you do not need to type them. The dictionary follows the page language by default and can be switched to English, Spanish, French, German, Italian or Brazilian Portuguese; everything runs in your browser.
The result is only ever as good as the word list behind it, and word lists disagree far more than people expect. These come from open-source spelling dictionaries, from about 54,000 words in Spanish to about 290,000 in Brazilian Portuguese, and some store only base forms such as singulars and infinitives. A word missing here can be perfectly valid in a game that uses a different list.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a word I know missing?
Because it is not in this dictionary. Word lists are edited choices, not a complete record of a language: most exclude proper nouns and abbreviations, and they differ on plurals and conjugated forms. A game with its own list may well accept a word that does not appear here.
Does it use a different dictionary per language?
Yes. Each language has its own word list, so the same letters give different results in Portuguese and in German.
How do I find anagrams?
Tick Use all letters. Only words that use every letter you typed, and no others, remain.
Can I use a blank tile?
Not directly. Try the likely letters for the blank one at a time, or use the word pattern tool, where ? stands for any letter.
